Instructions for Invited Lecturers

Invited papers, selected workshop papers and selected hot topic papers presented at the 21st European Conference on the Atomic and Molecular Physics of Ionized Gases (ESCAMPIG XXI) will be considered for publication as a Special Issue in Plasma Sources Science and Technology. Each paper submitted will be refereed to the usual standards of quality for the journal. IOP Publishing will manage the peer-review of the special issue. This means that:

  • Manuscripts should be submitted electronically, directly to PSST, according to these guidelines.
  • The manuscript submission deadline is July 30th 2011
  • Authors' and referees' main contact throughout the reviewing process will be with the PSST editorial office, contactable at

IMPORTANT NOTE: All papers submitted to the special issue must include original, unpublished research results. In some cases, it may be necessary to supplement the work presented at the conference with additional new material. Papers which do not meet PSST's requirements for originality and scope will not be included in the special issue.

Contributed Papers and workshops

Conference and Workshops contributions should be prepared following the guidelines under the Abstract submission tab.
Extended conference abstracts should be received by LOC before February 24th, 2012, typewritten on A4 format paper, maximum two pages for contributed papers and maximum four pages for invited papers. All contributed papers will be refereed by the International Scientific Committee. Participants of the workshops should register at the ESCAMPIG conference in order to submit their papers. The deadline for submission of contributions for Workshops is also set to February 24th.

Conference Proceedings

Contributed papers are to be presented in poster sessions and they will be published in Europhysics Conference Abstracts (ECA) proceedings in electronic format, to be distributed to all participants at the beginning of the conference. All contributed papers will be refereed by the international scientific committee and may be rejected on scientific grounds.

Both invited and contributed papers will be issued in the conference abstracts. Full papers of the invited lectures, selected workshop papers and selected Hot Topics papers will be published in a special issue of Plasma Sources Science and Technology associated with the conference. It should be noted that under the agreement with the publisher the special issue cannot be regarded as a proceedings. Only specialized scientific papers and maximum of 2 or 3 review papers will be accepted and papers should satisfy the standard criteria outlined by the journal.
